Photo Privacy Sweep Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to Photo Privacy Sweep. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

License

Apps and Fun grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Photo Privacy Sweep for its intended purpose. You may not redistribute, resell, or reverse engineer the app except where the law expressly permits it.

What the app does

Photo Privacy Sweep inspects privacy-relevant image metadata, creates new cleaned copies, and re-inspects those outputs. It never overwrites or deletes the source photo.

The app accepts JPEG, PNG, BMP, static GIF, single-page TIFF, WebP, HEIC, and HEIF, subject to the limitations below and to compatible Windows codecs.

Format and quality limitations

  • JPEG files with normal or no orientation can have metadata removed without re-encoding their image data.
  • JPEG orientation values 2–8 must be applied to the pixels, so those files are re-encoded at quality 95.
  • PNG metadata chunks are removed directly.
  • TIFF, BMP, and static GIF are re-encoded without copied metadata.
  • WebP outputs PNG, while HEIC and HEIF output JPEG at quality 95.
  • Animated GIF and multi-page TIFF are not supported.

JFIF, Adobe color metadata, and an optional ICC color profile may remain for decoding or color compatibility. The app reports these structures separately; they are not counted as private metadata.

No absolute removal guarantee

Image formats, proprietary fields, malformed payloads, and unsupported data vary. Photo Privacy Sweep cannot guarantee detection or removal of every possible hidden field. Review the verification result and the cleaned file before sharing it, especially when the consequences of disclosure are important.

Your files and backups

You choose the source files and output location. Existing outputs are not overwritten; a numbered name is used when necessary. You remain responsible for keeping appropriate backups and for confirming that a result suits your needs.

Acceptable use

Do not use the app to break the law, infringe another person's rights, or process files you are not authorized to use.

Price and availability

Version 1 is free and fully unlocked, with no ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. Store availability and future versions may change; any material change will be described before it applies.

Third-party software

Some formats depend on image codecs installed in Windows. Microsoft Store, Windows, and any third-party codec are governed by their respective terms.

Warranty and liability

Photo Privacy Sweep is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apps and Fun is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, data loss, or disclosure arising from use of the app.

Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

Changes

We may update these terms when the app changes. The revision date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
